hud supports every DX levels but if you want to use transparent viewmodels then it requires DX level 95 or above.

i used photoshop to resize my desired background to 2048x1024 and then i went to vtf edit and made my background into a vtf named menugif (the name of the huds default background) and a vmt and i replaced it and it worked

also you HAVE to make the path for the vtf when you save it: materials/vgui/replay/thumbnails/menu/menugif
